St. Croix River Daily Boat Tour in Taylors Falls
A great way to tour the St Croix River. Your tour includes a narrated tour of the history and rock formations along the river!
Since 1906, tourists by the thousands have enjoyed the scenic beauty of the world-famous Dalles of the St. Croix River by excursion boat. Our excursion boats include the Taylors Falls Queen and the Taylors Falls Princess. Both boats are enclosed on the lower level, with an open upper deck.
Your licensed boat pilot and tour guide will point out the unique rock formations left behind as the glaciers retreated thousands of years ago in this beautiful area of Taylors Falls, MN. Among the most outstanding formations is the huge stone cross for which the St. Croix River was named. “St. Croix” means Holy Cross.
Other sites that can be seen from the boats include the world’s largest glacial kettles or “potholes,” Lion’s Head, Turk’s Head, and the highlight of the boat tour, The Old Man of the Dalles – the most outstanding natural rock face you’ll ever see.

No need to print a paper ticket. We scan your ticket on your mobile device or look your reservation up by name.
A light jacket in the spring and fall seasons is recommended.
Cash for the snack bar, while we accept credit cards, sometimes it can be difficult to process credit cards with minimal service out on the river.
We do not allow outside food to be brought onboard, but if you have a personal water bottle you want to bring, that is okay.

- Our onboard snack bar serves beer, wine, lemonade, soda, coffee, candy, chips, sandwiches, and charcuterie trays.
- Pre-order a River Rock Meal for your group outing or when purchasing your tickets online. River Rock meals included a sandwich, chips, pickles, and cookies. Beverage not included. River Rock Meal can be picked up at the snack bar upon boarding.
- At our River Rock Patio, you can grab a pizza, sandwich, charcuterie tray, ice cream, etc., before boarding the boat.

The Taylors Falls Scenic Boat Tours are handicap friendly. Both boats are somewhat accessible, depending on a variety of factors. The lower level of the boat is accessible in a semi-limited capacity to most standard-size manual wheelchairs during normal water levels. The restrooms onboard are not handicapped accessible, but there are handicapped stalls in our restrooms next to the ticket window in the brown building. There is no elevator to the 2nd level of the boat. The staff and crew at the Taylors Falls Scenic Boat Tours are committed to assisting guests with accessibility whenever possible.
